Complexity quantifies the amount of structured information. Medical images, such as MRI scans, X-Rays, or US images, may be analyzed from a complexity standpoint at given time intervals in order to quantify the progress of an illness or the effects of treatment. The technique of complexity-based image analysis is currently being researched by OntoMed.
